In October 1996, Hermes Abrasives reached an agreement to acquire Weber & Reik, a manufacturer of bonded abrasives products . Weber & Reik will continue to operate as a separate entity with all employees being retained.

The addition of Weber & Reik, a recognized manufacturer of high quality precision grinding products in Europe, substantially strengthens Hermes' bonded abrasives product offering. In 1993, Hermes began marketing a specialized line of grinding wheels through the acquisition of Oemeta in Germany.

A complete line of engineered bonded abrasives' products supported by experienced sales and engineering personnel will be offered in 1997.
