Hermes Abrasives introduces new Abrasive File Belt Program

Hermes Abrasives, Ltd. announces the introduction of a new File Belt Program. The Program features RB 486 44 Z Belts (type 48644) in several sizes to fit portable file belt machines.

RB 486 44 Z Belts are composed of zirconia alumina grain for better stock removal and longer life. The belts incorporate Hermes Procut® top size additive to reduce workpiece operational temperatures and increase the life of the belt. The belts also feature the new EB 89 tape butt joint, which is designed to withstand a higher level of operational stress created by the sharp radius of the tool.

Applications include deburring, smoothing weld seams, and grinding hard to reach areas for castings, forgings and other metal operations. The following sizes and grits are available on the Program:

¼" x 24" - Grit +60
½ " x 12" - Grits +40, +60, +80
½" x 24" - Grits +36, +60, +80
¾" x 18" - Grits +60, +80
¾" x 20½" - Grits +36, +60, +80
