FL 384 X and FL 386 X Flap Discs

Hermes Abrasives, one of the world's leading producers of industrial abrasives, announces the addition of FL 384 X and FL 386 X flap discs to our product line.

The basis of these tools is a special high quality zirconia-alumina grain coated onto a cloth backing. Hermes flap discs are characterized by high stock removal, low operating noise and weight, sharpness of cut, and a long service life, making Hermes flap discs an economical alternative where resin fibre discs or flex grinding wheels are currently being used. Hermes flap discs can be used without backing pads on hand-held angle grinding machines.

Both FL 384 X and FL 386 X are recommended for use on the following applications: removal of weld beads, coarse grinding of cast parts, removing burrs from sheet metal and pipes, stock removal and surface cleaning (rust removal, etc.) of metal items.

FL 384 X contains zirconia-alumina grit coated onto a cloth backing, mounted on a beveled, fiberglass reinforced backing plate and available in grits 36 - 120 (ANSI).

FL 386 X contains zirconia-alumina grit, with a special grinding aid, coated onto a cloth backing, mounted on a beveled, plastic backing plate. FL 386 X is available in grits 40 - 120 (ANSI).

The flap discs are available in the following dimensions: 4" x 5/8"; 4 1/2" x 7/8"; 5" x 7/8"; 7" x 7/8".
