At Hermes, we know that high quality abrasives are important to your company. The high quality of Hermes is guaranteed by using the most advanced methods in the manufacturing process, such as isotopic measurement analysis and statistical process control methods. These ensure consistent operating parameters both in small patch production and in high-volume production. We use advanced measuring and testing technologies for in-process and final inspection of our products, important elements in our customer-driven quality assurance. For process and product development modern research laboratories and experienced specialists are utilized to create excellent facilities because the flexible implementation of customer wishes is an integrated part of our development.

In order to prove our commitment to quality, we submitted our company to auditing by one of the leading inspection organizations in the world, TUV-CERT in March of 1994. Their findings: Hermes meets the demanding quality standards set forth by The International Organization of Standardization (ISO).

Over a year of planning, teamwork and dedication went into the preparation for certification. Reviews of all current quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, and policies were completed. Control documents were created to ensure that the correct procedures were followed. All of our personnel attended training seminars for obtaining ISO certification.

ISO Certification is not a one time recognition. Constant quality monitoring and improvement is required. Now certified, we will be audited annually with a complete re-evaluation every three years.

Previously, our operation in Hamburg, Germany became the first European abrasive company to receive ISO 9001 Certification, which incorporates the areas of Research and Development in the scope of accreditation.

We are proud of attaining ISO 9002 Certification in 1994 and our re-certification under ISO 9001 standards in March of 1999.
